Care information

Proper refrigeration, clean handling and moisture control will help maintain the freshness and quality of fresh sprouts and microgreens.

Refrigeration: Refrigerate fresh sprouts and microgreens promptly after collection or delivery and keep them at 5°C or below. Return the product to the refrigerator as soon as possible after serving or handling.

Storage: Keep produce in its original packaging or a clean food-safe container. Protect it from contamination and avoid crushing or tightly compressing delicate microgreens.

Moisture: Excess moisture can shorten storage life and encourage deterioration. Keep microgreens as dry as practical during storage and avoid allowing water to collect inside the container.

Handling: Always use clean hands and utensils when handling fresh produce. Avoid cross-contamination from raw meat, unwashed produce, dirty surfaces or other potential sources of contamination.

Before Eating: Inspect the product before use. Where washing is appropriate, rinse with clean drinking-quality water shortly before eating rather than washing well in advance of storage.

Freshness: Fresh sprouts and microgreens are perishable and are best consumed as soon as practical after collection or delivery. Follow any product-specific use-by, best-before or storage information provided with your order.

Food Safety: Discard produce showing signs of mould, sliminess, unusual discolouration, abnormal odour or other deterioration. Do not consume fresh sprouts or microgreens if you are unsure of their condition.

Best Quality: Keep the product continuously refrigerated, handle it hygienically and minimise unnecessary exposure to warmth and moisture until ready to use.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your order size and weight, delivery address and available carrier services. We use Australia Post and other carriers to provide suitable delivery options and rates.

Dispatch

Orders are generally packed and dispatched within 0–2 business days (Monday–Friday), excluding public holidays and unusually busy periods.

Delivery Times

Delivery times begin from the date your order is dispatched. As a general guide, Australia Post Parcel Post usually takes 2–6 business days, while Express Post generally takes 1–3 business days where available.

Regional and remote destinations may take longer. Orders containing seed sent to Western Australia, Tasmania or other biosecurity-controlled destinations may also require additional processing or inspection.

Delivery estimates are provided as a guide only and can be affected by carrier delays, weather, peak periods and biosecurity requirements.

Tracking

All shipped orders include tracking. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with your tracking information so you can follow its progress.

Authority to Leave

Depending on the carrier and delivery service, your parcel may be left in a safe location if no one is available to receive it. You can provide delivery instructions during checkout where supported by the carrier; however, specific delivery requests cannot always be guaranteed.

Local Pickup – Riverstone, NSW

Local pickup can be selected at checkout when available. Please allow approximately 2–3 business days for your order to be prepared.

Wait until we contact you to confirm that your order is ready and arrange a suitable collection time.

Please do not attend the warehouse without an appointment. All pickups are strictly by prior arrangement.

Seed Biosecurity – WA & Tasmania

Seeds and other plant material may be subject to state biosecurity restrictions.

Western Australia has specific entry requirements for seed, and seed consignments may be inspected by Quarantine WA. Tasmania also regulates the importation of viable seed, with additional requirements applying to certain species and consignments.

Requirements vary by seed species, quantity and destination and may change over time. Customers in Western Australia, Tasmania and other biosecurity-controlled areas should check current state requirements before ordering.

Where an order contains seed that cannot meet applicable biosecurity requirements, we may need to contact you before dispatch or remove affected products from the order.

Fresh Crunchy Sprout Mix – Grown to Order

Fresh Crunchy Sprout Mix combines hearty sprouted legumes for a firm, satisfying crunch and mild nutty flavour. Grown to order for salads, wraps, bowls and savoury dishes.

Description

Fresh Crunchy Sprout Mix – Grown to Order

Our Fresh Crunchy Sprout Mix is available on a grow-to-order basis. This hearty blend of sprouted legumes is grown specifically for confirmed orders and harvested young for a firm, crisp texture and fresh nutty flavour.

The mix is based around chickpea, red lentil and blue field pea sprouts, with other suitable legumes sometimes used depending on the formulation. Because the blend can vary, the exact ingredients can be confirmed when you place your order.

How to Order Fresh Crunchy Sprout Mix

Fresh Crunchy Sprout Mix is not maintained as a ready-to-ship stock item and needs to be ordered in advance.

To place an order, email admin@ozsprout.com.au with the quantity you require. We will confirm the current blend, your order requirements, availability and expected timing before the crop is grown.

If you require sprouts for a café, restaurant, event or regular supply arrangement, include your preferred quantity and required date when contacting us.

Hearty, Nutty & Seriously Crunchy

Unlike finer leafy sprouts such as alfalfa or broccoli, Crunchy Sprout Mix is made from larger-seeded legumes. The result is a substantial sprout with a firm bite and a mild combination of nutty, earthy and slightly sweet flavours.

The different shapes, sizes and colours of the sprouted legumes also create an attractive mixed appearance that works well in salads, wraps, grain bowls and other savoury meals.

Serving Fresh Crunchy Sprouts

Add Crunchy Sprout Mix to salads, wraps and bowls, or combine it with leafy greens and fresh vegetables. The sprouts can also be incorporated into thoroughly cooked dishes such as stir-fries, soups and warm grain bowls.

Because this is a mixed product, flavour, colour and appearance may vary slightly according to the exact legumes included in each batch.

Storage & Food Safety

Fresh seed sprouts are highly perishable and should remain refrigerated at 5°C or below. Keep them protected from contamination and wash thoroughly under cool running water immediately before preparation.

Raw seed sprouts can carry foodborne bacteria even when they look and smell fresh. People at increased risk from foodborne illness should avoid eating raw or lightly cooked sprouts and choose thoroughly cooked sprouts instead.

Prefer to Grow Your Own Crunchy Sprout Mix?

If you would rather make your own crunchy sprout blend, OzSprout stocks the core legumes used to create this style of substantial sprout mix.

Combine Chickpea Sprouting Seeds, Red Lentil Sprouting Seeds and Blue Pea Sprouting Seeds to create your own mix and adjust the proportions to suit your preferred flavour and texture.

Because these larger seeds expand considerably after soaking, avoid overcrowding your sprouter and leave plenty of room for thorough rinsing, drainage and airflow.

For complete instructions covering soaking, rinsing, drainage and harvesting, see our How to Grow Legume Sprouts in 5 Easy Steps guide.

Growing your own allows you to customise the blend, while our fresh grow-to-order Crunchy Sprout Mix is available when you would prefer the crop to be grown and prepared for you.
