Care information

Proper cleaning, drying and storage will help keep your sprouting equipment hygienic and in good working condition. Always follow any product-specific care instructions supplied with the item.

Cleaning: Wash reusable jars, trays, lids, screens and other growing components thoroughly before first use and after every crop. Use warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse well with clean water.

Sanitising: Equipment used for growing edible sprouts or microgreens should be sanitised regularly using a suitable food-contact sanitising method that is compatible with the product material. Rinse where required by the sanitiser instructions.

Drying: Allow all components to dry completely before reassembling or storing. Trapped moisture can encourage mould, odours and microbial growth.

During Growing: Keep drainage holes, mesh screens and ventilation areas clear so water can drain freely and air can circulate around the crop. Remove seed residue and organic matter between growing cycles.

Handling: Avoid abrasive scourers, harsh chemicals or excessive force that may scratch, warp or damage plastic, glass, mesh or other components. Do not expose equipment to high heat unless the product is specifically rated for it.

Inspection: Check reusable equipment regularly for cracks, chips, damaged screens, worn seals or other deterioration. Replace damaged components that can no longer be cleaned effectively or used safely.

Storage: Store clean, completely dry equipment in a dry, well-ventilated area away from excessive heat, direct sunlight and contamination.

Best Care: Product materials and cleaning requirements can vary, so follow any specific washing, dishwasher, temperature or maintenance instructions shown on the product packaging or product page.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your order size and weight, delivery address and available carrier services. We use Australia Post and other carriers to provide suitable delivery options and rates.

Dispatch

Orders are generally packed and dispatched within 0–2 business days (Monday–Friday), excluding public holidays and unusually busy periods.

Delivery Times

Delivery times begin from the date your order is dispatched. As a general guide, Australia Post Parcel Post usually takes 2–6 business days, while Express Post generally takes 1–3 business days where available.

Regional and remote destinations may take longer. Orders containing seed sent to Western Australia, Tasmania or other biosecurity-controlled destinations may also require additional processing or inspection.

Delivery estimates are provided as a guide only and can be affected by carrier delays, weather, peak periods and biosecurity requirements.

Tracking

All shipped orders include tracking. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with your tracking information so you can follow its progress.

Authority to Leave

Depending on the carrier and delivery service, your parcel may be left in a safe location if no one is available to receive it. You can provide delivery instructions during checkout where supported by the carrier; however, specific delivery requests cannot always be guaranteed.

Paper Grow Tray Liners for Wheatgrass & Microgreens

Keep growing medium where it belongs with our Paper Grow Tray Liners. Designed for use with drainable wheatgrass and microgreen trays, each sheet sits beneath the growing medium to help prevent fine soil or coco fibre from escaping through the drainage holes while still allowing excess water to drain.

Each pack contains 60 paper liner sheets, providing a convenient supply for repeat wheatgrass and microgreen crops. They are particularly useful when working with fine growing media that can otherwise wash through drainage openings during tray preparation and early watering.

Ideal for Wheatgrass Growing

Place one liner across the base of a Microgreen & Wheatgrass Grow Tray before adding soil, coco fibre or another suitable growing medium. The paper helps keep the medium contained while allowing irrigation water to drain through the tray.

A second sheet can also be placed over freshly sown or pre-germinated wheatgrass seed during early germination. Keeping this upper sheet damp helps maintain moisture around the germinating grain. Once the shoots begin lifting the paper, remove the upper sheet and continue growing normally.

Useful for Soil & Coco-Grown Microgreens

The bottom liner can also be used when growing microgreens in fine soil, seed-raising mix or Coco Fibre Growing Medium. Crops such as sunflower, pea shoots, broccoli, radish and many other tray-grown greens can benefit from a simple barrier between loose growing medium and the tray's drainage openings.

For most microgreens, an upper paper sheet is not required. Follow the crop-specific germination method instead, which may involve blackout, gentle pressure or another covering method depending on the variety.

Simple Single-Crop Convenience

After harvest, lift out the spent crop, roots, growing medium and paper liner together, then clean the reusable grow tray before starting your next planting.

With 60 sheets per pack, the liners provide a simple consumable accessory for regular home wheatgrass and microgreen growing.

How to Use Paper Grow Tray Liners

Paper tray liners are primarily designed to sit between the drainage openings of a grow tray and the growing medium. They help retain fine soil or coco fibre while allowing the tray to continue draining during watering.

Using a Liner Under the Growing Medium

  1. Clean the grow tray: Start with a clean, dry drainable grow tray.
  2. Position one liner: Lay a single paper sheet flat across the base so the drainage openings are covered.
  3. Add growing medium: Spread approximately 1–2cm of soil, coco fibre or another suitable medium over the liner, or use a greater depth where required by the crop.
  4. Level the surface: Gently level the growing medium without compacting it excessively.
  5. Add the seeds: Sow or spread seed according to the instructions for the crop being grown.
  6. Water carefully: Moisten the crop as required. The liner helps retain fine growing medium while allowing excess water to drain.
  7. Continue growing: Follow the crop-specific instructions for germination, blackout, lighting, watering and harvest.
  8. Remove after harvest: Lift out the spent roots, growing medium and used liner before cleaning the tray.

Using a Second Liner for Wheatgrass Germination

A second paper sheet can also be used over germinating wheatgrass seed.

  1. Prepare the tray with a bottom liner and approximately 1–2cm of growing medium.
  2. Spread prepared wheatgrass seed evenly across the surface.
  3. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain.
  4. Place a second paper liner directly over the seeds.
  5. Mist the upper sheet until evenly damp.
  6. Keep the paper and seeds moist during early germination.
  7. Check regularly and do not allow the upper sheet to dry completely.
  8. Remove the upper liner once the wheatgrass shoots begin lifting it.
  9. Continue growing under the normal light and watering conditions for wheatgrass.

Using Liners for Other Microgreens

For most other microgreens, use the paper primarily as a bottom tray liner.

An upper paper covering is not required for every crop. Depending on the variety, germination may instead involve a blackout cover, another tray or gentle weight.

Always follow the specific method recommended for the crop being grown.

Suitable Growing Media

Paper tray liners can be used beneath:

  • Coco fibre
  • Fine seed-raising mix
  • Soil-based microgreen growing media
  • Other fine tray-growing media where appropriate

The liner is not intended to replace the growing medium itself.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use one bottom liner per crop.
  • Position the liner before adding growing medium.
  • Keep drainage openings beneath the liner unobstructed.
  • Avoid excessive watering or leaving the tray waterlogged.
  • Use a suitable lower tray to collect drainage where required.
  • For wheatgrass, keep the temporary upper sheet damp during early germination.
  • Remove the upper sheet once the shoots begin lifting it.
  • For other microgreens, follow the crop-specific germination method.
  • Store unused liners in a clean, dry location.

After Harvest

Remove the used liner together with the spent roots and growing medium.

Clean and dry the reusable grow tray thoroughly before beginning another crop.

Paper liners are intended as a single-crop consumable and should be replaced for each new growing cycle.
