Fresh Broccoli Microgreens – Grown to Order
Our fresh broccoli microgreens are available on a grow-to-order basis. Rather than holding harvested microgreens in regular stock, we grow crops specifically for confirmed orders so customers receive fresh, young greens produced for their requirements.
Broccoli microgreens are harvested while the plants are still young, after their green cotyledon leaves have opened and before they develop into mature broccoli plants. They have tender stems, soft green leaves and a mild, fresh broccoli flavour with a subtle peppery finish.
How to Order Fresh Broccoli Microgreens
Fresh broccoli microgreens are not maintained as a ready-to-ship stock item and need to be ordered in advance.
To place an order, email admin@ozsprout.com.au with the quantity you require. We will confirm your order requirements, availability and expected timing before the crop is grown.
Because each order requires growing and harvesting time, please arrange your order ahead of when the microgreens are required.
Fresh Microgreens for Salads, Wraps & Garnishes
Broccoli microgreens are versatile enough for everyday meals as well as plated presentations. Add them to salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls and savoury dishes, or use a small handful as a fresh green garnish.
Their flavour is milder than mature broccoli, making them easy to combine with other vegetables, herbs and microgreens without dominating the dish. They can also be added to smoothies where a fresh green ingredient is wanted.
Young, Tender Broccoli Greens
Microgreens are different from sprouts. Broccoli microgreens are grown as young plants in a tray and harvested above the growing medium after their first seed leaves have developed. The result is a fresh product with visible green leaves and tender stems rather than the whole germinated seed and root commonly eaten as a sprout.
Keep fresh broccoli microgreens refrigerated and handle them as fresh produce. Wash under cool running water before eating and use promptly while the leaves and stems remain fresh, crisp and free from deterioration.
Prefer to Grow Your Own Broccoli Microgreens?
If you would rather grow broccoli microgreens yourself, OzSprout also stocks the seeds and growing supplies needed to produce fresh trays at home.
Start with our Broccoli Microgreen Seeds, grow them in a Microgreen & Wheatgrass Grow Tray and use Coco Fibre Growing Medium or another suitable microgreen growing medium.
Broccoli is one of the simpler microgreens to grow because the seed is sown dry with no pre-soaking required. For complete instructions covering tray preparation, sowing, blackout, lighting, watering and harvesting, see our How to Grow Microgreens at Home guide.
Growing your own is a practical option if you want a regular supply, while our fresh grow-to-order broccoli microgreens are available when you would prefer the crop to be grown for you.
